Piotr Urbańczyk becomes President of BEST TFI

Piotr Urbańczyk, former President and Vice President of Meritum Bank, Vice President of Dominet Bank and Member of the Management Board of Lukas Bank, has been appointed President of the Management Board of BEST TFI.



Mr Urbańczyk has been involved in banking and finance for 25 years. He is an accomplished manager who took part in the construction from conception of three banks: Meritum Bank, Lukas Bank and Dominet Bank.


Recently, he worked for Meritum Bank; he is one of those who contributed to the construction of this bank from conception to its business success. From 2009 to 2015, Mr Urbańczyk served as President and Vice-President of Meritum Bank.


Previously, from 2002, he was engaged in a bank project implemented in cooperation with one of the private equity funds of the Merrill Lynch group, i.e. Dominet Bank. As its Vice President, Mr Urbańczyk was responsible for issues related to finance, accounting, reporting and capital markets. From 2007 to 2009, after Dominet Bank had been acquired by Fortis Bank, he worked for the financial group Fortis.


From 1998 to 2000, Mr Urbańczyk was involved in the creation of Lukas Bank, in cooperation with Enterprise Investors investment fund. While serving on its Management Board, he was responsible for financial matters.


BEST TFI, whose sole shareholder is BEST, manages investment funds whose total assets amount to PLN 1.25 billion (as of 30 June 2016).

The total nominal value of own and third party claims managed by BEST exceeds PLN 11 billion (as of 30 June 2016). In 2015, the BEST Group generated a net profit of PLN 82.2 million with operating income amounting to PLN 140.1 million.
