About BEST Group

Business profile

BEST S.A. is one of the largest businesses in the debt collection industry in Poland.

The company is the parent of the BEST Group, which actively invests in non-performing debt portfolios.

The company was established in 1994 under the name of BEST Przedsiębiorstwo Handlowe S.A. and at that time was involved in hire purchase and the distribution of credit products. In 2002 it underwent an operational and financial reorganisation, ceasing its credit intermediation activities, and focusing instead on the debt collection and debt portfolio management business.

In 2005 BEST S.A. established one of the first securitisation funds in the market, namely BEST I NSFIZ, followed in 2007 by a daughter company to manage investment funds: BEST TFI S.A.

In 2010 BEST S.A. obtained a licence of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) to manage securitised assets of securitisation funds (as the first player in the Polish market).

BEST S.A., as a member and co-founder of the Conference of Financial Companies in Poland (KPF) and co-founder and moderator of the Principles of Good (Debt Collection) Practices, actively contributes to the development and shaping of the debt market in Poland.

BEST Group

Division of tasks between individual member entities of BEST Capital Group is a derivative of the distribution of tasks and activities related to a comprehensive management of non-performing debts.

Such an arrangement contributes to an improved organisational structure and a better management of operational risk, as well as making it possible to implement an excellent cost control scheme.

We follow the Principles of Good Debt Collection Practices

The Principles of Good Practices is a document which is a set of rules of conduct adopted for application by enterprises operating on the financial market that are members of the Polish Financial Corporation.

As a member of the Union of Financial Companies in Poland (ZPF), once a year we undergo an ethical audit conducted by the Ethics Committee of the ZPF, checking compliance with the Principles of Good Practices. The following certificate confirms that we have passed the audit with a positive result.

Debut of BEST S.A. on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

Takeover of BEST S.A. by Krzysztof Borusowski and Marek Kucner. Moving away from the credit intermediation activity towards the debt collection business.

BEST I NSFIZ buys a claim porfolio from Kredyt Bank S.A. and Żagiel S.A. whose per value exceeds 1.5 bilion PLN. This is one of the largest transactions of this type in Poland.
